Modern solutions that leave old-school ladders in the dust
Gone are the days of shaky ladders, soggy squeegees and someone teetering on your windowsill with a bucket in one hand and hope in the other. Welcome to the age of pole-fed window cleaning – a smarter, safer and downright shinier way to get your glass gleaming.
Here at Willoughby’s Windows, we’ve embraced this modern method with open arms (and extended poles). Whether you’ve got a two-up-two-down in Fareham or a bustling café in Winchester, our pole-fed system gets the job done efficiently, thoroughly and without the risk of footprints on your flowerbeds.
So, what exactly is pole-fed window cleaning, and why are we such fans?
Put simply, it’s a long, extendable pole with a brush on the end. Water is pumped up the pole and sprayed directly onto the window, while the brush gently scrubs away grime, dust and that unidentified smudge the cat definitely had something to do with.
But here’s the clever bit: the water we use is purified. That means it’s been filtered to remove minerals and impurities, so it dries clear – no streaks, no spots, and no chemical residues. Just sparkling clean glass.
Kinder to your frames
The soft-bristle brush is gentle on uPVC, wood and aluminium, giving sills and frames a thorough clean without scratches or streaks
Look, we’re not here to bash the old ways. Traditional window cleaning with a squeegee and bucket still has its place – especially for smaller panes, interiors, or heritage properties where a gentle touch is needed. And yes, we’re well-versed in both techniques.
But for most modern homes and businesses across Southern Hampshire – from Botley to Emsworth – pole-fed window cleaning is the clear winner.
